lyrics
Je t'aime, je t'aime, my astronaut cat
I've gone a walking to the valley along our train track
when the train whistle sounds it's a call a to run wild
to the place where you'll always be a poet and I'll always be a child
if only your eyes didn't glimmer like stars
and your smile couldn't summon the sun
if only your words couldn't lift up my soul
maybe I wouldn't think you were the one
the stars that spell out your name in the sky
are so bright and almost as clear as my cry
when the days are all the same and I have nowhere to roam
I read your words and from wherever I am they bring me home
at nighttime we'll sit and we'll stare at the stars
imaging the poems they're longing to sing
we'll sing them out loud as we sail through the night
and land for a picnic on Jupiter's ring
Je t'aime, je t'aime, my astronaut cat
I've gone a walking to the valley along our train track
when the train whistle sounds it's a call a to run wild
to the place where you'll always be a poet and I'll always be a child
